Penn State Berks will mark its decade-long sustainability journey with a presentation titled “Celebrating our Sustainability Journey; Reflecting on the Past and Looking Ahead.” The event will take place from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. The event will include light refreshments and will be open to the public but attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
Sadan Kulturel-Konak, professor of management information systems and the director of the Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center at Penn State Berks, has been selected as VentureWell Ecosystem Futures Fellows for the inaugural 2025 cohort.
Penn State Berks hospitality management students showcased their talent while serving the community — and won third place for their watermelon soup recipe — during Opportunity House’s 23rd annual Souper Bowl, held on Feb. 3 in the college’s Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center.
Penn State Berks is showing support for the members of Berks Benefitting THON who are representing the college at THON, the University’s dance marathon which benefits families battling pediatric cancer. There will be a dancer send-off from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, in Perkins Student Center Lion’s Den. The campus community will gather to wish the dancers and co-overall chairs well, and the send-off will be open to the public. Philly Pretzel Factory’s Muhlenberg site will provide free soft pretzels for attendees.
‘Not One More: A Peace and Justice Project,’ a collaboration between Penn State Berks and community outreach programs in Berks County, was recognized on the House Floor, along with Pennsylvania State Representative Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 23.
Penn State Brandywine’s and Penn State Berks’ LaunchBoxes, powered by Penn State, collaborated with Penn State Great Valley to hold the fall 2024 Idea TestLab Pitch Competition on Nov. 4. Six startup entrepreneurs participated in the competition, which was held at Great Valley.
Penn State Berks will host a variety of events during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, set for Monday, Nov. 18, to Friday, Nov. 22. Events are sponsored by the college’s Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development Center and the Berks LaunchBox in downtown Reading.
The Berks LaunchBox in partnership with Penn State Berks will host its free 3D Modeling and Printing Workshop for Manufacturing Companies from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Reading, Pennsylvania.
